Concrete Play Boulder

This boulder on Derby Street in Sheffield is designed for children. It reaches a maximum height of just over 2m there is around 25 square meters to explore offering possibilities for traversing and for free runners. There are also a number of fossils to discover with in the surface.
Deeside Leisure Center

We were very pleaded to install a bouldering wall at the newly developed Deeside Leisure Center. The wall is designed to appeal to all, from young children to experienced climbers. The wall is fully friction coated and features carpeted matting.
traverse wall

We installed a small bolt on hold traverse wall at an outdoor center in the Peak District. Our in house artist painted a Peak District themed mural. We also fitted wooden features to stop users from climbing onto ledges either side of the traverse wall. This provides the center with a facility that children can used unsupervised.
New Wall for Birmingham School

Over the school holidays we installed a 65m2 climbing wall at a school in the midlands. This is our first fully friction coated wall and features both lead climbing and top roping.
The package included staff training, folding matting, custom paintwork that included the school's logo and a route setting course for staff allowing the school to manage this element of their wall.
Concrete Boulder
We recently installed a group of concrete boulders at Green Oak Park in Totley. The installation features a 3m high boulder offering climbs for all abilities, from children through to the areas many dedicated rock climbers, and two small boulders which double as seating and climbing obstacles for young children. We embedded a number of artificial fossils into the surface of the boulders to provide value for those who are not inspired to climb.
Concrete boulders require virtually no maintenance and are very resistant to vandalism making them ideal for public spaces. Our client specified grass matting as a safety surface which allows, once the grass around the site has reestablished, the boulders to merge seamlessly with the park.
Zig zag in Cambridge
In December 2010, Zig Zag installed an exciting bouldering facility at Kelsey Kerridge Sports center in the middle of Cambridge. Although the space available for the wall was limited, the wall has been designed to offer bouldering for beginners through to competition standard climbers and provides possibilites for long link ups for endurance training. Zig zag provided matting, a campus board, finger boards a pull up bar and carried out restoration work on the center's exisiting concrete wall. The wall has proved instantly popular with local climbers.
School Climbing Wall.

This wall (approx 50m2) was installed in a Sheffield School. The wall features six top rope lines, a 10m long traverse wall and folding security matting that prevents unsupervised use. Zig zag also provided staff training and assesment, a full range of climbing equipment, and a maintenance and route setting programme for the wall.
New Wall at Strood Youth Centre

Zig Zag Climbing Walls have installed an exciting facility at Strood Youth Centre. The installation features a 7.5m high lead climbing with a stalactite that overhangs by 2.5m, as well as more gentle angled walls for less ambitious climbers. The wall also features folding safety matting that prevents unsupervised use of the wall.
Zig Zag at Alter Rock
We recently installed an 8 metre long traverse wall at that spans spaces between columns. Alter Rock in Derby. The project presented us with an interesting design challenge as we could not drill attachments into the columns due to the listed building status. The solution was to create steel band clamps that attached to the columns without altering them, thereby creating a strong structure that is completely demountable.
